Peer Support for Parents

Parents for Children’s Mental Health (PCMH) peer support chapters are here for you.
Located in communities across Ontario, our chapters are made up of parents and caregivers on their own journey of supporting their child with mental health needs. We meet regularly providing parents and caregivers a safe and friendly place to connect with others, feel heard, and get help navigating the child and youth mental health system.

Support House – Centre for Innovation in Peer Support:
Offers virtual peer-led support groups for individuals aged 16+ in Ontario, including parents. Groups like Social Connections (no registration required) and Self-Help Drop-In (pre-registration needed) cover topics such as wellness, stress, and anxiety. Check their website for an updated calendar of events.

Association of Parent Support Groups in Ontario (APSGO):
APSGO supports parents dealing with challenging behaviors in children or youth (e.g., aggression, substance use, or legal issues). Groups use Choice Theory principles to help parents set boundaries and build better relationships. Contact APSGO for local chapters or virtual options

At HOPE, we believe in the power of parent-to-parent peer support.
We are a volunteer-run network of peer support groups for parents and guardians who share similar struggles, experiences, and concerns related to their teen or young adult child.

We are a non-profit family peer support organization for parents whose children to age 25 are facing mental health challenges. We are parents who have supported our own children with these challenges – we’ve been there, we get it, and we can help.
